What words of advice would you give yourself right now?
Journaling when doing deeper work and exploring change is a insightful practice. A life coach suggested writing a letter to yourself - not to your future Self, not to yr 20 year old Self but to who you are NOW.
I had heard of writing to your younger or future Self but never to the person you are right now - what would I say?! What words would I offer at this moment in time? Obviously, I was in.
Writing a letter to myself was a chance to reflect on the passage of time I have travelled - not only to deeply acknowledge my heart aches, but also my loves - this alone, allowed me to feel my growth and deeply honour the woman I am now because of both of those things.
I was able to record what is currently speaking to my heart and objectively reflect my way forward. Writing to myself as I am now allowed me to deeply acknowledge and feel where I am, what is on the horizon and why it is so important to me.
For me, writing a letter to myself allowed me to see my humanness and recognise I am doing okay and whisper the sweetest of nothings directly into my heart.
If this speaks to you, here are some rituals I used to drop on in:
Dim the lights, make yourself a cuppa and light some incense or candles - your favourite scent - the one you use when you do healing work so your body recognises the field it is about to enter.
Play your favourite music to write to or simply the tunes that nurture your Soul;
Grab your favourite journal and pen and before writing, drop into your body. Breathe into the parts that haven't been spoken to all day and let yourself simply unwind.
Once in, set your intention to write freely from the heart and away you go.
